Apple has spawned a variety of rumors and controversies around itself. Heated discussions have flared up around the name of the iPhone expected this fall. Many consider it unfair to call it the iPhone 5 because it will be the representative of the 6th generation of Apple smartphones. Adding fuel to the fire, I will add, my attention was not ignored by the fact that Apple filed a lawsuit with the World Intellectual Property Organization
(WIPO) by claiming the domain iPhone5.com.
Now Apple is often filing such lawsuits, and sometimes even buying domain names, especially redirecting visitors to suspicious sites. Don't jump to conclusions from this latest domain dispute, however. Most experts agree that the next iPhone will become known as the “new iPhone”.
Continuing the topic of domain disputes, we can add that earlier Apple did not skimp on the purchase of domain names, and only last year it took the path of filing claims.
And it was a great success.
After filing claims with WIPO, the company defended the rights to iphone4s.com, iphoneporn4s.com, iphonesex4s.com, iphonexxxforce.com, iphone4s.com and other domains previously used by the adult site operator.
Years earlier, Apple had won claims for domain names such as applesales.com, appleproductsonline.com, appleipods.com, ipods.com, iPhone4.com, and WhiteiPhone.com.
Interestingly enough, this only started after the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S hit the market and Apple paid the undisclosed sums for control of the iPhone4.com and WhiteiPhone.com domains that redirected visitors to porn sites.
