Today Bloomberg has published an interesting article about Apple's plans for the iPad Mini presentation. The new device, according to an authoritative publication, will be announced by the company's management in October this year.

Citing reliable sources of information, Bloomberg confirms that the new product will receive a display from 7 to 8 inches diagonally. However, it will be a regular standard display, and not, as many Apple lovers expected, the Retina display on the third-generation iPad released in March this year.
The display resolution will be "standard" 1024 × 768 pixels. Accordingly, developers will not need to rewrite their applications adapted for the current iPhone / iPod Touch and iPad models.
The market price is close to that of Google's 7-inch tablets (Nexus 7) and the popular Amazon Kindle Fire. The expected "price tag" for the iPad Mini will range from 249 to 299 US dollars, depending on the configuration.
As Shaw Wu, an analyst at Sterne Agee & Leach Inc, said in an interview with the publication:
However, Apple officials have so far declined to comment. According to Gartner Inc, Apple already owns 61 percent of the tablet market.
In addition, the report notes that the Californian tech giant has been pondering the idea of a smaller iPad for a long time. Steve Jobs himself was skeptical about this idea and even rather was against the release of 7-inch tablets.
Apple's desire to enter a new market is most likely caused by the sales data of the Kindle Fire, as well as the confident attention of buyers to the new Nexus 7. Both the first and second confirm the presence of purchasing interest in devices of this kind. Probably, the company's management is convinced that the new product will strengthen its position in the tablet market.
