For almost a day now, Internet users have been stirring up rumors that Apple is allegedly negotiating with Twitter in order not only to support the latter financially, but also to get a share of the shares by purchasing them. The source of this information was The New York Times,
claiming that the process of discussing financial investments is just beginning at the moment.
Everyone knows Apple's attention to Twitter, which is reflected in the fact that its microblogging has been successfully integrated into OS X and iOS, which means that it is clear that this investment, as well as the acquisition of a share of shares, is quite reasonable. Plus, it's no secret that Apple prefers to control the technology it uses. Thus, having a stake on Twitter would also facilitate such control.
In addition, such cooperation may make it impossible for other interested companies to buy Twitter.
But this news is at the level of rumor, since The Wall Street Journal released data in which it suggested that this discussion could have been, but much earlier. A few years ago, Apple put forward the idea of using Twitter in iOS 5. But then there was no talk about the stock at all, only about financial assistance.
Therefore, we will have to wait for the statements of the official representatives of one of the companies, which will either confirm or deny this rumor.
