It seems that Tim Cook was not joking when he said that Apple in the near future will pay special attention to keeping secrets about the company's products that have not yet been released. In the released beta version of iOS 6 for developers, all links that point to new items from Apple have not yet been released. Previously, these links were one of the main sources,
around which all the speculations were built about the not yet announced devices.

For example, in the previous version of iOS 5, you could look into the USBDeviceConfiguration.plist file and find out about some of the technical characteristics of the iPhone 4S that had not yet been released. In iOS 6, this file is still present, but you will no longer be able to find there data concerning devices that have not yet been released. The tag is now flaunting a multi-valued device - Unknown Hardware - Apple Mobile Device.

Apple has attempted to confuse meticulous programmers and journalists in the past by posting in this file descriptions of fictional products that the company did not even plan to release. For example, in December last year, this file contained descriptions of products codenamed “iPad10.1”, “iPhone11.3”, “iPod11.1” and “AppleTV8.3”. Such actions of the company allow simultaneously maintaining the excitement around its products, and maintaining the intrigue until the very presentation of new products.
