CNET reports that 13-inch displays, with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, have begun production, which will be included in the upcoming MacBook Pro with Retina display from Apple.
Richard Shim, an analyst for CNET, said:
13-inch Retina displays will be manufactured in factories Samsung, LG and Sharp.
Shim also noted that supplies for the new 13-inch Retina displays will be increased compared to 15-inch display supplies included in the first Retina MacBook Pro, released back in June. This is due to the greater popularity of 13-inch models compared to laptops with 15 and 17-inch screens.
According to rumors, Apple plans to launch a 13-inch version of the MacBook Pro with Retina display in October, and as mass production of displays for the upcoming device is in full swing, it is likely that Apple will have time to release an updated MacBook Pro by that time.
