The guys at Nowhereelse.fr have just posted some new photos comparing the iPhone 5 and micro USB cable connectors. As reported, both connectors are very similar in size.
The images clearly show 8 gold-plated contacts. Where is the ninth mentioned? According to experts, the metal case acts as the ninth contact. For this reason, presumably, the charger will be bipolar. Thus, it can be inserted either side.
