Samsung is currently undergoing regular inspections by the Korea Fair Trade Commission for alleged abuse of its own wireless technology patents, Reuters reports.

These violations were noticed by the main competitor - Apple, which initiated the checks.
According to Korean experts, Samsung could have abused in this direction in order to achieve a leading position in the market.
It is worth noting that Apple has already won a landmark victory in a similar case. Not long ago, a US court found Samsung guilty of patent infringement against Apple. The fine at the time was $ 1.05 billion.
At the same time, Samsung made a statement about its readiness to license 3G patents back in 1998. The KFTC also conducted an investigation, which identified a number of antitrust violations.
In response, Samsung has pledged to sue Apple over patents for 4G LTE technology in the iPhone 5. A similar situation was taken against Apple last year when it approved 3G patents.
According to the Korea Times, Samsung owns the third largest 4G / LTE portfolio in the world. In addition, the company has a patent license for the use of Qualcomm chips in the iPhone 5 and, therefore, it is too early to say what the new investigation will lead to.
