In Japan, Google held an official presentation of the new Nexus 7 tablet. One of the news after this event was the denial of information that Google sent its maps for iPhone and iPad for approval to the Apple online store. The information was denied by Eric Schmidt, who is the chairman of the board of directors of the corporation.

He noted that representatives of the company are not taking any steps in this direction, and communication with Apple about Google Maps does not stop. But the final decision on the use of the application should remain with the Cupertinians, although Google representatives consider using their maps the best option.
Google refuses to develop an application with its maps for iOS, most likely because the management decided to find its own benefit in this situation, namely, to show its superiority in the field of working with maps. And this, in turn, can lead to the fact that disgruntled users switch from iOS to Android. Nokia has also benefited from this situation by releasing MapGate and presenting its cartographic successes to the world, which are used by such recognized companies as Facebook, Microsoft, Yahoo and Amazon.
As for Apple, according to the president of TeleMapics, Mike Dobson, the mistake of the apple company was the wrong approach to the creation of its database of maps. And this turns out due to the fact that developers combine maps from different sources in an automatic mode, which leads to the accumulation of a large number of errors. Each separate source of errors may not be, but after mixing, they begin to appear.
The way out of the situation, Mike Dobson, calls the transition from collecting information automatically to the work of analysts. And this, in turn, will lead to the fact that Apple will actively start attracting professionals in this area. Most likely, the choice will fall on the developers of Google and Navteq, the company working for Nokia.
Difficulties in correcting errors and shortcomings with maps in iOS 6, according to the expert, may be caused by the fact that any change and update of information must be coordinated with government agencies in different countries, which is associated with various kinds of formal procedures. This means that the correction of the problem situation will stretch over time.
