As the resource TechCrunch reported the day before, it is already possible to buy an unlocked model of the iPhone 5 from AT&T in the United States, paying the full price for it. To activate it to work in the networks of any mobile operator, you must fill out an online form on the AT&T website, send it by fax, wait 5 to 7 days and the phone will be unlocked.

However, according to the source, there is an easier way to unlock the iPhone 5, just restore the phone in iTunes and it will be unlocked.
After the device is restored in iTunes, the user of the smartphone from Apple will receive a message with the following content: "Congratulations, your iPhone has been unlocked."
As the source explains, when a person buys an iPhone 5, having paid the full price for it, the device's IMEI is added to a specific database and endowed with the “ready to be unlocked” status. Discount iPhone 5, i.e. bought at a subsidized price and subject to the conclusion of a two-year contract, in the corresponding database has a different status.
The mobile operator on its website explains it this way: in order to be eligible to go through the unlocking process, incl. fax, iPhone 5 user must be a former or non-contractual customer.
We remind you that you can make the official unlock of practically any iPhone here.
