Today, the most talked about future innovations from Apple are iPad Mini and iPhone 5. In the case of the latter, everything is clear - this is an update to the line of smartphones, but why did the company's management suddenly decide to create a smaller version of the tablet? Experts have found the answer to this question.
The iPad is a tablet that has proven itself great and needs no introduction, but what about the iPad Mini? Obviously, the device will have a 7-inch screen and be slightly smaller than a regular Apple tablet. However, why suddenly reduce the screen size?
According to representatives of various foreign media outlets, the current version of the Apple tablet is extremely inconvenient for the beautiful half of humanity - many complain that it is bulky, uncomfortable, and does not fit into a purse. Yes, all these reproaches are like a stone in Apple's vegetable garden.

It is also worth paying attention to children - the version with a smaller screen will clearly become more child-friendly. The current dimensions of the iPad 3 are too bulky for a child and, unfortunately, do not allow children to comfortably play educational games.

It is also understandable that Apple does not intend to completely give up the niche of 7-inch tablets to its competitors - Amazon Kindle and Google Nexus 7. Even despite the different operating systems, these are still competitors, and Apple understands this very well.

However, the most objective reason for the appearance of the iPad Mini was named by Ryan Jones, an independent foreign analyst, who cited an extremely interesting assumption on his website that explains the release of the new tablet. This diagram graphically displays the current position of the Apple device cost scale.

As you can see, everything is very accessible here: the iPhone has an excellent range of prices - from $ 0 for the iPhone 3Gs 8 Gb (but only subject to the conclusion of a mandatory contract for a period of 2 years) to $ 849 for an unlocked iPhone 4S 64 Gb. The price scale is filled in correctly, there are no large jumps, which means that in this case the pricing policy is being followed correctly, just like in the case of the iPod.
However, the picture is completely different when we look at iPad prices. The price milestone starts at $ 399 for an iPad 2 16gb WiFi, go ahead, you can buy an iPad 3 from $ 500 to $ 800. Note that there is nothing cheaper, and this is clearly a blunder of the company. Most likely, the "younger brother" - iPad Mini will also be added to the iPad 3, the price of which will just be lower, which should clearly improve the price chart in the iPad section.
Roughly, the price for the iPad Mini will be in the region of $ 199-399. This is really ridiculous money for Apple products, but in this case it is worth remembering the words of Tim Cook:

What does this mean? This term means that a company that is dominant in a particular market sets a price threshold, often a maximum one that competitors simply cannot set or reach. Usually, this price point is extremely high, and competitors, not wanting to set such a high price for their product, simply “eat up” the dominant position of the company, which has set too high a price level.
Apparently, this is very clearly visible in the current situation on the tablet market - the niche of tablets with small screens (7 inches) belongs entirely to other companies (Amazon, Google, Samsung, Htc …), and thanks to prices that are much less than the cost of iPad (Google Nexus 7 costs $ 199), we can say that this market is certainly well formed and will hardly accept a new guest.
Apparently, the words of Tim Cook do not coincide with the real state of affairs, and the company provoked the effect of the pricing umbrella. However, the release of the iPad Mini should help Apple finally conquer the tablet market.
