Not so long ago, Apple's abandonment of Google Maps and YouTube in the iOS 6 operating system was hotly discussed. Perhaps no one paid much attention, but Apple also decided to remove such a convenient option as the ability to donate applications.

Deleting this option affects the mobile App Store on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch products, but users can still gift apps using iTunes on Mac or PC. Apple has confirmed the change and it is currently unknown when the option will return in iOS 6, and if it will.
As stated on iPadInsight, Apple's reference materials confirmed that the iOS 6 app donation feature is not currently available on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
The document was released on September 21, the day the iPhone 5 went on sale in the US and eight international markets. It says the following:
The company also emphasized that users can donate apps using iPhone, iPad and iPod touch running iOS 5 and earlier.
If you want to purchase an app for a gift, just go to the Apps section of the iTunes Store, find the app you are interested in, call the drop-down menu and select the Gift app option.
As for the removal of this option, we can only hope that this is a temporary phenomenon that will be corrected in the future.
