Mobile apps almost instantly became something of a drug for the modern smartphone-obsessed society. People use them every day, to the point that they cannot imagine their life without clicking on the cherished icons.
As you know, on the eve of the 5th anniversary of the App Store, Apple presented each user with 5 premium applications and games. eBay, in turn, noted this event in a somewhat unusual way: conducting an unofficial study, which was attended by 200 iPhone owners. Their task was to just live 4 days without using their favorite apps.
Believe it or not, more than a third of the participants never made it through the four-day deadline. They described their condition as "defenselessness, powerlessness and loss." After they started using apps again, more than half (55 percent) of the participants said they were happier and 45% more productive.

- “At times it was necessary to use a camera. I have a small child".
- "To be honest, I felt disadvantaged and defenseless."
- "I felt so lost all these 4 days that after starting to use the apps again, I felt like wings grew."
There is no escape from the fact that the modern way of life cannot be imagined without mobile applications. But remember: just five years ago, the English word "app" did not exist in principle, and the idea of using applications on mobile phones was in its infancy.
