More recently, DreamWorks bought the exclusive rights to film the super popular Need for Speed series of racing games from ElectronicArts. The shooting of the film based on the game has already begun, which means that the fans will not have to wait long for the film to be released widely.
The Need for Speed series of games began its history back in 1994, has been released on more than 15 gaming platforms and has sold over a hundred million copies worldwide.

The official start of the Need for Speed movie project was announced in early 2012. Written by John Gatins, he wrote Real Steel (2011) and Coach Carter (2005). Need for Speed was produced by his brother, George Gatins, and in 2010 he produced Too Cool for You.

The details of the plot are not yet known. Perhaps it will be based on the events taking place in any part of the Need for Speed game (of which there are already two dozen accumulated to date). And perhaps Gatins will take for a film with a completely new plot just the name of the game, Need for Speed, which many have loved.

Filming began in the USA, Georgia, Macon. Aaron Paul (TV series "Breaking Bad"), Michael Keaton ("Batman" (1989)), Dominic Cooper ("President Lincoln: Vampire Hunter") and the beautiful Imogen Poots (Jane Eyre (2011)) took part in the filming. The plot of the film is built around illegal races. In general, every part of the Need for Speed game echoed this theme. The hero of the film goes to jail after his best friend dies in the race. He goes out and first of all tries to avenge his friend's life.
The Need for Speed movie is coming soon. The premiere is scheduled for early 2014.
