Smartphone Users Unlock Their Devices 110 Times A Day - Every 8-9 Minutes

Company Locket conducted a study which revealed that the average smartphone user touch screen unlocks the device for any needs about 110 times a day.

It is noteworthy that the preliminary results obtained through the survey were radically different from those that were revealed experimentally. If we assume that the average sleep duration is about 8 hours, then the frequency of using the gadget for the rest of the daily time is 8-9 minutes. Most of the users who participated in the study (only 150 thousand respondents) did not think that they use their smartphone so often, however, the practical test showed just such results.

It is also worth noting that the most active smartphone owners use their devices between 5 and 8 pm, and the most popular purpose of unlocking is to read and send text messages. This information was provided by analysts at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. In addition, users quite often (about 15 times a day) inquire about the current time. At the same time, in some cases, the user does it mechanically and after a second he cannot remember what exactly he saw on the smartphone screen.
