Recently, an application appeared in the App Store that can literally save the lives of Israelis. This is a Light Red application that allows you to receive warning in case of missile attacks from the Gaza Strip. At the very least, the application will increase the chances of taking cover in a bomb shelter faster.
The author of the Light Red app is a 13-year-old boy - Liron Bar from Beer Sheva, a city in southern Israel. As noted by The Telegraph, the application was created by two volunteers - Koby Snir and Yossi Ifrah. The Red Light program is not linked to the state's missile defense system.
IOS device owners will receive a warning as soon as an alarm is raised. Moreover, the application will start playing the siren sound, enable vibration mode and show the elapsed time since the notification was received.
According to the press secretary of the Israeli Armed Forces (IDF) Avital Leibovich, in the event of a rocket attack, Israelis will have about 15 seconds to find a safe haven.
For 11 months of 2012, about 1,500 rockets were fired at Israel.
