Program ImageAlpha allows users to reduce the size of PNG-file by transcode the file from 24-bit to 8-bit color and a decrease in range. Most often, this will have a minimal effect on image quality, but will save space on your computer's hard drive or make website pages with your image load faster. 8-bit compatible with all web browsers, iOS and Android.
When adding a new image to the program window using the slider, you can adjust the number of colors in the image. If the image is of sufficient quality, the effect will not be very noticeable, and the file size will decrease.
You can also choose a mechanism for image compression: Median Cut, NeuQuant, Blurizer, Posterizer. Below you can see the original image and processed with the help of compression algorithms kgo copies, while the color depth was reduced from 256 to 16. This made the file size 90% smaller.
