The end of the year does not always mean only summing up the results. For example, many leading companies and analysts are making forecasts for future financial quarters and years to come. Naturally, this also applies to Apple.

2013 was a very successful year for the Cupertino-based company, despite the fact that many critics predicted failure, attributing it to the inability of Tim Cook to “create innovations”. In addition, the recent drop in the value of the shares of the American corporation cannot be ignored. Still, Apple has overcome all the challenges and achieved success with the iPad Air, iPad mini with Retina display, and the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S smartphones.

With regard to innovations, recently Cupertinians have really stopped releasing radically new devices. Now Tim Cook's company is limited to the release of updates for existing developments. The only exception to this rule is the Mac Pro, which has received not only a completely new design, but also redesigned hardware.

It is likely that 2014 will change everything. So, there is an assumption that the company will release a long-awaited and highly discussed device, tentatively named iWatch. Apparently, Apple "allowed" its competitors Pebble, Qualcomm, Nokia, Adidas and Samsung to release smartwatches this year in order to evaluate all the disadvantages and eliminate them in their own product.

Evidence in favor of the appearance of the gadget next year is the release of the M7 motion coprocessor, which can work with the iPhone 5S, iPad Air and iPad mini 2 with Retina display. In addition, the company has hired Angela Arendts, a former Burberry director, and Paul Deneuve, a former head of Yves Saint Laurent, to design the new product.

True, Tim Bajarin is of the opinion that iWatch should not be expected in 2014, since the watch is considered more of an accessory than a really useful gadget. He also points out that smart bracelets like the Jawbone Up and Nike Fuel Band are more likely to be created.

As for the screen sizes of devices, opinions differ here. For example, some analysts argue that Apple will stick to the trend of creating and improving full-size tablets. Others, in turn, are confident that the Cupertinians will develop an iPhone with a medium and even miniature display. However, the majority is still inclined to believe that Apple will release a smartphone with a larger screen diagonal.

Carolina Milanesi from Gartner, in turn, is confident that the new product from Cupertino will be a 12-inch version of the iPad.

One cannot, of course, fail to mention the Apple TV, because data regarding the digital media player appears on the Web quite regularly. Moreover, according to Milanese, the device will use technologies that can be seen in TVs and computers.

Also, it is highly likely that the device from Apple will acquire technology that is actively used by Microsoft's Xbox 360 Kinect, since the company acquired the Israeli PrimeSense, which owns the rights to it.

And, of course, next year cannot do without a new headquarters - a "space" campus. Having received permission to carry out construction work, the company immediately began preparing the territory. Therefore, it is very likely that 2014 will be marked by a huge amount of news about the construction of Campus 2.

The rest of the products, Bajarin and Milanesi argue, will not be as significant. So, Apple may introduce a new processor A8, as well as a motion coprocessor M8. iPad Air, in turn, may acquire a Retina version with an increased screen resolution. The radically redesigned iOS 7 will not remain unchanged - the release of iOS 8 will definitely take place next year. OS X Mavericks may have a similar update.

It is likely that in 2014, users will see a redesigned App Store as well as a number of new retail stores.

Tablets and laptops can get special applications and functions to ensure the safety and confidentiality of data. This is due to the fact that portable gadgets are increasingly used during business meetings and are becoming an integral part of our daily life.
