Suddenly appearing in the App Store, the updated line of iMac all-in-ones in 2013 came as a real surprise. The new Macs were expected to be unveiled at a special event in October alongside the new iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 tablets.
The new all-in-one models are based on the Intel Haswell processor: the younger 21.5-inch version is equipped with a 2.7 GHz quad-core Core i5 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.2 GHz), 8 GB of RAM and hard drive with a volume of 1 TB. The starting price in the US is $ 1299.
An iMac with a 2.9 GHz processor (Core i5) will cost the buyer $ 1499, while the cost of a monoblock equipped with a top-end Core i7 with a frequency of 3.1 GHz will cost $ 1899.
Compared to the iMac introduced last year, the look of the computers hasn't changed.
