The Japanese tech giant Sony, which has not been doing well lately, officially unveiled the second generation of its smartwatches on Tuesday. In general, this market segment is not yet something that has not been studied - it is practically empty and dull, like in an abandoned cellar. Therefore, we can only compare SmartWatch 2 with the previous model of the same line.

When you first look at the SmartWatch 2, a very interesting design catches your eye. The inner side of the bracelet, the color of which is a cross between brown and beige, gives the impression that this very bracelet is made of genuine leather. In fact, there is no skin - ordinary stainless steel is hidden under the plastic layer. In addition, not all components of this model have acquired this brown-beige color. The device itself is wrapped in an aluminum case.

Compared to the previous model, the SmartWatch 2 has an increased display resolution - up to 220 x 176 pixels. The diagonal of the screen was 1.6 inches. Another change in this component is the improved display brightness and contrast, thanks to which the SmartWatch 2 can be usedin natural street lighting conditions, it is not so tiring on the eyes. The changes also affected the software part of the "smart watch" from Sony. There are more pre-installed applications, the user interface has become more friendly. In addition, the integration of SmartWatch 2 with smartphones has become somewhat more convenient thanks to NFC technology. The connection is made using the Bluetooth 2.0 protocol.
Powered SmartWatch 2 by the batteries, which are able to withstand 3 - 4 days of battery life during active use enough. Perhaps, entering the market of "smart" watches is almost the only opportunity for Sony to get out of the protracted crisis. At least while the Japanese have an advantage - while the largest players in the portable device market are pulling the release of such devices, Sony is already releasing the second model. It is known that SmartWatch 2 will appear in stores only in September, and nothing was said about the price.
