Last Thursday, the American Patent Office published a patent for an unusual mouse from Apple, which describes a device for inputting information into a computer using movements and gestures such as tilting, swinging and tapping.

This concept is called "Methods and device for conducting combinations of kinematic commands" and describes a system that allows you to control the computer interface using a variety of movements and gestures. The main control element in this system will be the usual mouse with a significant set of improvements. For example, to increase the accuracy of the transmitted information about movements, the device can be equipped with several sensors, such as a gyroscope, an optical sensor, an accelerometer, and some others.
In addition to the usual control of the computer by moving the mouse on a horizontal surface, it will be possible to combine some actions to get additional control options. For example, it will be possible to combine the movement of the mouse with its tilt, as shown in this figure:

In addition, there will be some complex gestures, to activate which you will need to meet certain conditions. For example, in the picture below, the gesture is activated only if the movement to the side was started at a very low speed, and the raising of the mouse was done with a slight jerk.

The concept description indicates that the system is extremely flexible and all gestures can be customized to suit your own needs.
