But in addition to smartphones with large sensors, camera phone hybrids such as the Samsung GALAXY S4 Zoom and Nokia Lumia 1020, which are more like a camera than a smartphone, also threaten the position of photo makers in the market. Such devices completely replace the camera, and as a bonus, provide advanced editing and work with images.

Analysts predict a 28% drop in digital camera sales in 2013 - to 71 million devices. The biggest hit will be camera or video-only manufacturers such as Nikon, Canon and Pentax.

Ru expert on photographic equipment Alexander Babulin is not surprised by this trend - users simply need not so much the quality of photos (modern smartphones are completely satisfied with them), but the ability to integrate with social networks. Although most smartphones do not match even the most budgetary soapboxes in terms of photo quality, they have ample opportunity to share photos - be it social networks, photo hosting sites or Instagram. Camera manufacturers, in order not to lose a piece of bread, even began to produce models with Wi-Fi and NFC. The expert also noted that against the background of falling sales of budget cameras, there is an increase in the more expensive segment - semi-professional mirrorless cameras with interchangeable lenses. Many have now become seriously involved in photography and are ready to spend substantial sums of money on their hobby. Perhaps that's whythe demand for inexpensive SLR cameras is not falling either.

Regina Rodnyanskaya, PR manager of the M. Video said that in the first half of 2013, digital camera sales were down from a year ago. Only the sales of DSLRs are growing - by as much as 24%, but due to a decrease in prices, in monetary terms, sales growth is quite insignificant - 4%.

Canon and Nikon dominate the DSLR segment. Sony is the third most popular. In the segment of compact digital cameras, the same brands are leading, but there is no clear leader. The M.
