Most Internet users no longer have to explain what a "like" is and what it is for. This is probably why the Facebook developers decided to do something new and added a "Sympathise" button to express sympathy. This will be an alternative to "like", which is not always appropriate.
According to the BBC, the new button is designed so that users do not have to waste time typing sad emoticons or expressing words of support when there is no such opportunity.
Despite the fact that Sympathy will surely find its own circle of users, its creators are not yet planning to implement the technology in Facebook. This was reported by the developers themselves.
As for the use of the "Empathy" button, it will become just a subspecies of the standard "like". It will be possible to "sympathize" with a Facebook user if, during the publication of the status, he notes a sad mood. The display of the number of "sympathy" will be the same as the number of "likes".
