The two leaders of the smartphone market, Apple and Samsung, occupy the first lines of the ratings not only in terms of the number of devices released and their market share. These companies also lead the way in smartphone revenue. Such data was reported by Horace Dediu, an analyst at Asymco agency.

According to the information provided, over the past six years, both manufacturers controlled the lion's share of revenue from the sale of mobile devices. After the release of the first Apple iPhone smartphone in 2007, smartphone companies raised $ 215 billion from their sales. And Apple and Samsung accounted for 87.9% of the revenue. Moreover, it is Apple that is the undisputed leader in this indicator - the company received 61.8% of revenue or $ 132.87 billion from the sale of smartphones in the past six years. The South Korean giant Samsung ranks second with a share of 21.6% and a quantitative indicator of $ 56.1 billion.

Following the leaders, the remaining money was earned by Nokia, BlackBerry, HTC and LG - this is approximately $ 26 billion. It is interesting that the third place in the Horace Dediu ranking was taken by the Finnish company Nokia, which received 9.5% of revenue from smartphone sales. However, Dediu did not take into account the sales of Chinese companies Huawei, ZTE and Lenovo in his forecasts.
