As you know, the iPhone 5C did not live up to Apple's expectations and did not cause much admiration among users. Various experts offer all sorts of options for what could be the reason for the low demand for this model.
Last week, Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster conducted a survey of 1,003 users, according to which only 6% of them intend to buy an iPhone 5c. Let's remind that in December last year this figure reached 9%.
According to the analyst, the iPhone 5s has a number of advantages over the 5c, including the Touch ID and the A7 processor, and consumers understand this. In addition, the concept of a color phone has not justified itself, since most users buy all kinds of covers for their devices, and the body of the smartphone is still not visible. This worked with the color iPod, as the owners of these gadgets rarely use cases.
If the iPhone 5c leaves a lot to be desired, the iPhone 5s is fine. According to a survey conducted by Munster, 33% of respondents who plan to purchase a new smartphone prefer the flagship model. This figure is slightly less than the December (35%) and September (38%), but it still indicates that 5s is still in demand.
A total of 39% of buyers said they were planning to purchase some kind of iPhone. In December this figure reached 44%, and in September - 50%. According to Munster's forecasts, in the next quarter, Apple will sell 37.5 million smartphones, which will only slightly (by 0.1 million) exceed sales in the same period last year.
