Fans of the Mozilla Firefox browser have long been hoping for possible use of their favorite Internet client on iOS. But according to the top officials of the company, this is not expected in the near future.

Jay Sullivan, vice president of the company, has revealed to the large army of fans of the Firefox web browser the reason why the "fire fox" does not appear on iOS. As it turned out, it all comes down to Apple's tight control over the applications it develops.
Currently, all third-party web browsers running on the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch use the UIWebView component, which is significantly slower than Nitro, which is the backbone of Safari. This is what became a stumbling block for Mozilla, which announced that it would only release Firefox for iOS after the restriction was lifted.
The fire fox's crush does not end with Apple's operating system alone. Developers faced the same issues during their plan to create a version of Firefox for Microsoft Windows RT that comes preinstalled on the Microsoft Surface tablet. Access to the Win32 API is very limited, which prevents the Mozilla guys from making their browser really fast.
Will Mozilla come to terms with Apple and Microsoft's demands anytime soon? Or maybe the developers of the popular web browser will be given the chance to implement their plans as an exception? The first is, of course, more likely, but only time will tell the truth.
