The iPhone has become the most profitable product made in the United States. This is reported by the Friday report of the MarketWatch edition. According to this material, the iPhone occupies a fifth of the global smartphone market and 40 percent of the US market.

Apple's operating income was $ 156 billion, of which more than half came from iPhone sales. For comparison - from the sale of the iPad, the Apple treasury received $ 32 billion.

The second most profitable product is occupied by Marlboro cigarettes with a 30 percent margin and $ 19 billion in revenue. The list also includes the energy drink maker Monster (3rd place with 26.7 percent margins and $ 1.9 billion in revenue), Coca-Cola (4th place - 25 percent and $ 14.3 billion). Enfamil, a baby food manufacturer, closes the top five with 24 percent and $ 2.3 billion.
