Apple's policy on operating systems for computers is fundamentally different from its main competitor, Microsoft. In particular, the "apple" company does not practice the official notification of users about the end of support for outdated versions, however, this can be judged by the lack of important updates.
In the case of OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, the litmus indicator was the SSL verification technology update, which was released for all current Apple operating systems. Versions iOS 6.1.6 and iOS 7.0.6, OS X Mavericks 10.9.2, as well as updates for OS X Lion 10.7 and OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 were released, but OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard remained vulnerable to interception of data transmitted wirelessly. In addition, at the end of last year, Apple developers also released an update for the Safari browser, closing the found security hole, but OS X 10.6 users were left out of business.
OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard was released on August 28, 2009, and was supported until September 2013 - a fairly long period for Apple operating systems. Despite the relatively high base cost of the operating system (at the time of release, new users had to pay $ 125 per copy), OS X 10.6 has gained wide popularity - even now about 19% of all Mac users use it (according to Net Applications), which is more than the still supported OS X 10.7 Lion (16%). This is partly because Snow Leopard is the last version of OS X to support Intel processors running on 32-bit architecture.
- OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion's Internet traffic share for the first time exceeded OS X Lion.
- A bug has been found in OS X, which is present in all versions of Mountain Lion.
- List of computers that can run OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
- OS X users: Don't feed us with bread, just let us upgrade.
Apple has begun to clean up its product lines by ditching outdated devices. According to the official statement, since June 9 this year, support for a number of gadgets will end, including the iPhone 3G and 3GS .In addition, Apple also obsoletes older models of MacBook Pro laptops, Xserve base stations, Xserve RAID, AirPort Express and select iMac models
Every year the issue of updates for Android devices is becoming more acute, but soon the owners of devices that were not so long ago considered flagship may face another problem - the termination of support from manufacturers. Samsung has already confirmed that it will no longer support the Galaxy S6 lineup, with the exception of the Galaxy S6 Edge + and S6 Active models
Are you a truly old Mac owner (e.g. PowerBook running Snow Leopard, the very first iMac running Tiger, LC 475 running System 7.0.1, Quadra 800 running Mac OS 9, or Macintosh SE running System 6)? Then sooner or later you will need to download the operating system for your pet
A subsidiary of the fashion house Roberto Cavalli, Just Cavalli has introduced a new line of protective accessories for gadgets from Apple - covers for iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s called Just Cavalli Leopard .The novelty will not only decorate the smartphone, but also reliably protect its body from potential damage
