And if in Canada, which, due to its geographic location, is somewhat deprived of sunlight, such a system works effectively, then what can we say about regions such as Mexico, Southern Europe or the Middle East.

True, with us Switch 8 can be used for about 6 months a year (depending on the geographical latitude of the area), the rest of the time the system will not make sense due to the lack of sunlight. In fact, we have already found the first minus in this system, but - this minus can be called "local" and is due to the specialization of Switch 8.

The most important components of the system are, in fact, solar panels and a cylindrical battery, which can store energy in itself to charge the iPhone from 5% to 90%. The battery is made of aluminum and looks quite acceptable. Of course, you cannot call a style icon, but demanding that the battery be stylish is also like scolding a color TV for not being a refrigerator.

Another detail - on the back of the panels there is a pocket for storing the battery and cables, as well as small loops with which the panels can be hung somewhere to collect more sunlight.

According to Goal zero, the Swich 8 charger without recharging itself can charge an mp3 player or cell phone three times, a smartphone twice, or increase the charge level of a tablet by 25 percent. This data is confirmed by the results of independent tests carried out by the Appleinsider portal. It takes about 5 hours to fully charge the Switch 8's battery on a sunny day. At the same time, it is possible to charge it from a computer using a USB port, which has a great effect on its functionality in conditions of receiving an insufficient amount of sunlight and cuts off the very disadvantage that we found at the very beginning of this review.

Naturally, it is necessary to mention the price of this device. The Swich 8 + solar panel kit can be purchased for $ 99 on Amazon. Seems not very expensive for such a useful thing.
