As we know, Apple has always opposed the stylus and touch devices that require one to enter information. After all, iOS was designed specifically for fingers and Steve Jobs once said - "if you see the stylus, then they ruined the device." However, none of this stopped the Cupertino-based company from working on its own.
A new patent application published by the US Patent & Trademark Office last week shows that Apple is working on the Active Stylus, a revolutionary new, multi-functional stylus designed specifically to overcome common problems with existing solutions.
The Internet blog Patently Apple, which released the new patent application, explains that Apple's new "Active Stylus" works in a completely different way than conventional styluses.
The new active stylus will provide more accurate touch sensing to capacitive touchscreens without increasing the cost. The diagram above explains how the stylus works.
As an example, in its patent application, Apple mentions the iPhone and iPad, which could act as devices with which this stylus could be used. Despite the fact that iOS is designed directly for fingers, Apple is now well aware that in certain cases it needs a stylus. Indeed, in many applications, for example, those designed for sketching and drawing, it is much better and more convenient to work with the stylus.
Of course, Apple's patent is not a 100% guarantee of the launch of this stylus, but it is direct proof that Cupertino is still working on this device. So it is quite possible that these ideas can be embodied in the company's future products.
Apple is internally developing new single-chip microprocessors for iPhone displays, Patently Apple sources in the Taiwanese integrated circuit industry, citing a new report from one supplier, said . This will allow the company to significantly reduce the thickness of its mobile devices
The announcement of a new build following the release of iOS 8.1.1 indicates a rush - the release of the Apple Watch is not far off, you need to prepare. The only noticeable difference between the beta version of iOS 8.2 from its predecessor is the support for "smart watches", so the specialized SDK is much more interesting - an extended description of the gadget interface is attached to it
The stylus market today is extremely crowded. You can now find stylus in almost any size, color and shape. However, from time to time, manufacturers still manage to release solutions that are noticeably different from the rest. These include a stylus for iPad - Notier from the Musemee team
Apple CEO Tim Cook gave extensive interviews to industry reporters at the Macintosh 30th Anniversary Celebration. Traditionally, media representatives tried to get at least some useful information about upcoming releases, however, the Apple CEO traditionally relied on the nondisclosure policy and joked
It's always interesting to look at Apple's various patent applications in the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office). Of course, these developments are rarely intended for consumer purposes, but they still give us the opportunity to look behind the "top secret" stamp in Apple's research labs
