A simple yet meaningful comparison of two competing mobile systems, Android and iOS. Comparison according to one of the most important parameters for assessing platform development - the degree of fragmentation.

Because applications that are suitable for one combination of hardware and software may simply not run on another. As you can see, the picture is fundamentally different, most of the users work under the latest iOS versions, 6th (22%) and 7th (74%), the remaining 4% do not count. There is no trace of harmful fragmentation, and the reason for this is Apple's tough authoritarian policies. Unlike Google, which instructs gadget manufacturers to license new versions of Android, the Apple company deals with this issue on its own. As a consequence, by controlling the release of both software and hardware, Apple reigns supreme. And there are no problems with running old applications in the new version of the OS, and iPhone and iPad owners can easily switch to it every year.
