This is not the first time we have been shown a disassembled Samsung Galaxy S5, but this time the authors are iFixit specialists who, as we know, give a maintainability rating to all new and hotly discussed devices.

It's worth noting that compared to last year's Galaxy S4, the current S5 flagship will be much more difficult to repair. This is not surprising, since the body of the smartphone has become impervious to dust and water, which means that the complexity of the design has increased. The previous version of the Korean flagship received an 8 out of 10 on the 2013 maintainability scale, while at the moment iFixit delivered only 5 out of 10 to Samsung's brainchild.

The 2,800mAh battery is a component of the Galaxy S5, and is quite easy to get to. If you want to replace something else, you first have to overcome the obstacle in the form of the S5 display panel and this process is not easy. The fact is that the connection is held on a decent layer of glue and requires the utmost care, patience and a lot of heat from the owner, which will allow removing the panel without damaging the glass or cables. A complete analysis of the device can be seen in the video itself:

Recall that a couple of weeks ago, iFixit also put their hands on the new HTC One M8, giving it a low maintainability score of 2 out of 10.
