Renowned designer Martin Hayek, who has created more than a dozen concepts of "apple" devices, suggests that Apple not get hung up on the production of consumer technology and think well about the prospect of developing space weapons.

This is not about real military developments, but about designing props for blockbusters. At one time, it was rumored that JJ Abrams, the director of the seventh episode of Star Wars, was advised by Jony Ive himself on designing futuristic weapons. Although this information is not confirmed, inspired by such an opportunity, Martin Hayek created the concept of the "apple" laser sword.

The designer appears to be also a fan of the Star Trek franchise - he created the phaser and tricorder concepts. The phaser is a weapon with a wide range of functions (from stun to dematerialize), and the tricorder is a diagnostic gadget that gives information about an object when you point the lens at it.
In concept, both devices were reincarnated as Apple iPhaser and Apple iTricorder.

Hayek's description states that Apple's phasers should have leather straps with adjustable lengths and a touch screen, and tricorders should support all iOS applications and have a medical diagnostic function.

By the way, in March there was a message that the Israeli company Unispectral Technologies began developing a technology that can be used to equip smartphones and which will allow "scanning" objects. That is, to actually have tricorder functions.
The authors of the project created its concept with the expectation of precisely medical use. So, futuristic devices can actually find their embodiment in reality in the very near future.
