For many people, a mandatory requirement for a smartphone is the ability to use two SIM cards in one device. Unfortunately, the iPhone does not have such a function, but if you do not want to carry an extra phone with a SIM card of another mobile operator, then pay attention to the Piece device.

Piece is a compact box with dimensions of 83 x 55 x 4 mm (easily fits into a wallet or a breast pocket of a shirt), allowing you to connect a second active SIM card to your iOS and Android mobile devices. The thin plastic case has a Micro SIM tray. The body can be painted white or black. Also included is an adapter for Nano SIM. Piece supports all modern communication standards - GSM850MHz, EGSM900MHz, DCS1800MHz and PCS1900MHz.

Synchronization with a mobile device occurs via an energy efficient Bluetooth 4.0 channel. The effective range is 10-15 meters.

The best part is that Piece allows you not to switch between two SIM-cards, making one of them active, but makes it possible to work with two SIMs simultaneously. This is possible due to the fact that Piece has its own proprietary dialer application. It is enough to pair the iPhone with Piece, sync contacts and forget about the need to buy a smartphone with two SIMs or use another phone, which, as a rule, is even embarrassing to show in public.
The application has a keypad, a subscriber book, a call log and its own iMessage analogue for sending SMS. But the coolest thing about Piece is the ability to use an iPod touch or iPad as a phone!

Of the additional functionality, we can note the presence of feedback between the smartphone and Piece. If you move away from the iPhone with a novelty, both devices will immediately sound a warning. Thus, you can receive a warning about a possible loss of the gadget. Also, by pressing a button on Piece, you can find the iPhone and vice versa. The only drawback is the inability to use an external SIM to access the Internet.

The built-in 550 mAh battery will provide up to 4 hours of talk time and up to 150 hours of standby time, which is more than enough. The device is charged via the MicroUSB port.

Piece currently works with iOS (iOS 7.1 and newer) and Android devices. An application for Apple Watch is already being developed. If developers raise more than $ 200,000 and $ 300,000 on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform, there will be a companion app for smartwatches and support for Windows Phone.

A piece ordered through Kickstarter costs $ 75. After the end of the campaign, the price will rise to $ 80. A version with a stylish case will be available for $ 90.
Shipping of the first copies will begin in October, and mass distribution of devices - in November. The fundraising campaign will last a little less than a month.
