The rampant fashion for selfies has bypassed prudent Russians, says hi-tech.mail, citing the results of a study by the Levada Center organization.

According to a survey on the activity of using cameras on mobile devices, only about 60% of users generally use their smartphones to take pictures. At the same time, 23% of this category of users take pictures on their gadgets no more than several times a month.
As for selfies, 73% of respondents never take them, and 12% rarely take pictures of themselves. Only 1% of users who participated in the survey admitted that they take selfies every day and then actively post them on social networks.

Most often, people between the ages of 18 and 24 take pictures of themselves. Among this age group, a minority of only 5% of the total take selfies several times a day. About 15% photograph themselves several times a week and 27% limit themselves to a couple of times a month. At the same time, as many as 35% never shoot themselves on smartphones. Thus, even among young people there are enough users who have not been touched by the fashion for "self-arrows".

At the same time, Russian users, if they take photos with the help of their gadgets, prefer to share them only with a limited circle of acquaintances, without putting them on public display in social networks. The survey involved 1600 people in 134 cities of the Russian Federation.

The results look quite optimistic, although they are hard to believe, judging by the selfie lovers from the tapes on any of the social networks. At the same time, well-known public figures such as Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Elena Mizulina and Sergei Lavrov do not disdain to be "crossbows".
