The iPhone 6s has not yet been released, and the well-known KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has already provided new information regarding the 2016 iPhone. According to the expert, "iPhone 7" may become the thinnest smartphone from Apple, the thickness of which will be only 6-6.5 mm. Note that the current iPod touch is 6.1mm thick, while the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are 6.9mm and 7.1mm thick, respectively.

Kuo said the iPhone 7 will feature the same Force Touch technology as this year's models. This is due to the fact that Apple and its suppliers have invested a lot of time and money in the development of the technology and its implementation in the iPhone 6s. The analyst is also confident that Cupertinians are unlikely to switch from in-cell touch panel technology, which implies the presence of capacitors built directly into the display, to glass-on-glass.
Recall that, according to one of the Asian suppliers Apple, the "iPhone 7" can be implemented glass-on-glass technology, which will increase the screen resolution to Ultra HD (4K). Nonetheless, Kuo said there shouldn't be any significant difficulties in producing in-cell panels. Plus, it doesn't seem like Apple is planning on launching smartphones with 4K displays.

The use of in-cell panels will allow the production of iPhone 6-6.5 mm thick While glass-on-glass technology would remove the bezel from the device, it would limit the ability to release thin and small gadgets. If Kuo's prediction about the thickness of the iPhone 7 is correct, it means that Cupertinos will continue to use in-cell technology.
