According to information published by the Chinese edition of MyDrivers, the new flagship 5.5-inch phablet iPhone 7 Plus will receive at least two exclusive features compared to its 4.7-inch sibling iPhone 7: a version with 256 GB storage and a 3100 mAh battery.

In comparison, the iPhone 6s Plus uses a 2,750mAh battery. The publication did not specify whether the arrival of the 256-gigabyte version of the iPhone will lead to the termination of the release of the often-criticized version of the Apple smartphone with 16 gigabytes of memory.

Unfortunately, MyDrivers has a bad reputation for spreading business rumors, so this information should probably be treated with healthy skepticism.

In turn, the authoritative analyst at KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo claims that Apple will reduce the thickness of the iPhone 7 to the size of an iPod Touch and a larger battery may simply not fit inside the thin case of a smartphone.

This version looks more plausible when you consider that Apple engineers equipped the iPhone 6s Plus with a smaller battery (2,750 mAh) versus the 2,915 mAh in the iPhone 6 Plus, without sacrificing battery life. This was made possible thanks to the iOS 9 optimizations and the improved power efficiency of the A9 processor. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that iOS 10 and the A10 chip will receive a logical continuation in terms of power consumption optimization.

Before the new year, all the same MyDrivers published the news that the 4-inch iPhone 6c will receive an A9 processor, 2 GB of RAM, Touch ID and a 1642 mAh battery (the iPhone 5s was equipped with a 1,570 mAh battery).
