The package of laws adopted by the State Duma, authored by deputy Irina Yarova, will hit not only personal life, but also the wallet of Russians. According to representatives of companies providing mobile services, the implementation of the requirements specified in the "anti-terrorist" package will lead to a significant increase in prices.

Let us remind you that Irina Yarovaya proposed (and the deputy corps supported) to oblige all “organizers of information dissemination” to store absolutely all user data for 6 months - correspondence, calls, images, video recordings, etc. In fact, all Internet resources, instant messengers, providers, cellular operators, which will have to spend huge amounts of money to provide appropriate storage facilities, fall under the law.

In particular, the largest mobile operators in Russia, according to their representatives, will be forced to incur such losses: Beeline will need 200 billion rubles only at the initial stage of meeting the requirements of the law, MTS speaks of one trillion rubles for creating networks and installing software, and MegaFon costs estimated at about 200 billion rubles annually (with a current profit of 45 billion rubles). The only way out for these companies is a significant increase in prices for services for the population.

It should be noted that we are talking about the storage period of data within 6 months, whereas initially the deputy Yarova proposed a 3-year period. However, Edward Snowden, who harshly criticized the "anti-terrorism" package, noted that its implementation is almost impossible. According to his calculations, even small companies that provide Internet services will be forced to provide storage with data of up to 100 petabytes, which will be a financial sentence for each of them.
