The knowledge of the average adult about the Vikings is rather superficial and has little to do with real historical texture, but on them you can build a very fascinating story in the Nordic style, which was done by the Russian developers from the Cloud Castle studio, which released a wonderful toy for iOS devices called Die With Glory.

So, unlike the vast majority of games that we are accustomed to since childhood, in this adventure quest, the main character does not need to survive, but rather to die. The difficulty lies in the fact that Sigurd (this is how our character is called) should not die naturally, because he lived a decent life and dreams of getting into Valhalla.
According to Scandinavian mythology, there is only one way to get into this very Valhalla - to die in an honest duel, which will be appreciated by the supreme god Odin. However, Sigurd conducted so many successful military campaigns that very few living creatures remained within reach, capable of fighting the red-bearded Viking on equal terms.
Die With Glory is made in the style traditional for classic adventure games - the main character moves through two-dimensional locations using point'n'click controls, contacting other characters, as well as interactive objects. That is, the user has to constantly solve puzzles, avoid obstacles and dangers, conduct dialogues with the inhabitants of the game world, poking his finger at special icons near people, animals, levers, etc.
The scenario deserves special attention, which, unlike most similar games, pleases with its nonlinearity. Branching dialogues and the choice of character actions really influence the further plot twists and turns, which implies the replayability of each individual fragment of the narrative.
Another plus of Die With Glory is the general atmosphere, reminiscent of funny cartoons of the past decade. Beautiful cartoon graphics and a sufficient amount of good humor in the game provoke the gamer to completely immerse himself in the plot twists, and not automatically skip animated inserts and dialogues, reducing the gameplay to a banal passage of levels. Recommended!
