Jony Ive, the chief designer of the Cupertino-based company, has created an exclusive model of the EarPods in solid gold.

This accessory was created with the assistance of designer Marc Newson specifically for the PRODUCT (RED) charity project, which will be held at Sotheby's.

The EarPods, introduced last year, are included with the latest generations of iPhones and iPods. The main difference between the auctioned version of the earbuds and the original model is the case of the accessory, made of 18-karat gold.
