As part of changing the content and appearance of Apple's online store, the legendary iPod Classic has been removed from the list of available products. The updated resource has received many changes, however, the absence of the iPod Classic indicates a complete discontinuation of the direct descendant of the first iPod.
However, sooner or later this decision could not be avoided, because the last time the iPod Classic was updated back in September 2009. The design of the round button device has remained unchanged since its launch in 2004.
Note that there is still an available iPod Shuffle (last updated in 2010) with a key somewhat reminiscent of the round iPod Classic button. However, unlike the latter, the Shuffle does not have the usual touch response. This kind of interface has long been replaced by touch screens typical of the iPhone and the Apple Watch introduced on September 9, 2014.
Recall that at the beginning of this year, Apple abandoned the production of iPad 2. Also, the company will no longer release the iPhone 4S.
