Advanced Instagram users, who have thousands of followers and even more likes, use the capabilities of the standard application to their fullest and most likely know about most of the functions that we will talk about in this material. We have selected 12 rather interesting little-advertised functions that may be useful to you.

Filter management
Each Instagram user has the ability to manage the filters used in the application. When adding an image, scroll the entire filter list to the right until the " Control " icon appears.

In this menu, you can not only add / remove filters, but also change their location in the ribbon. So now, after setting, the most frequently used filters will always be at the beginning, and unused ones will not be displayed at all.

Here you can discover new filters for yourself, of which there are a total of 40 pieces.
Sending posts from the feed

Did you know that with the built-in Instagram Direct post sharing system, you can easily share your posts and found posts with your friends in just a couple of clicks? You can also add your own comment there.

To do this, click on the send button located to the right of the likes and comments under the photo, select the recipient and, if necessary, add your own comment.
Align, Perspective and Rotate Images

The Instagram app is no longer a simple tool for uploading photos to the network with a minimum number of filters. The application has a decent photo retouching toolkit.

When adding, and in particular - editing, images, go to the tab with a wrench - " Tools ". Here you can adjust the perspective, brightness, contrast, structure, warmth, saturation, color and other precise picture parameters with simple movements.
Automatic posting to Vkontakte, Facebook and other social networks

Thanks to the Instagram application, you can publish images not only on the photographic network itself and Facebook, but also in other popular communities such as Vkontakte, Tumblr, Flickr, Twitter and other lesser-known services.

To do this, go to the settings of your personal profile and in the " Linked accounts " section, go to the " Linked accounts " menu. Here you can connect the accounts of interest by entering personal data and providing Instagram access.
From the creators of Instagram
Instagram isn't the only service and corresponding app for iPhone and iPad. There are also excellent free services such as Hyperlapse (creating time-lapse videos), Layout (a program for easy collage creation) and Boomerang (creating looping videos).
Thanks to these apps, you will be able to create mesmerizing content and, of course, share it on Instagram, gaining incredible popularity.
Download Hyperlapse for iPhone and iPod touch (App Store).
Download Layout for iPhone and iPod touch (App Store).
Download Boomerang for iPhone and iPod touch (App Store).
Selecting a thumbnail for a video
The popularity of videos published on Instagram, as well as on YouTube, largely depends on the selected thumbnail, which will be displayed everywhere. Many users ignore this moment when adding a video, but in vain.

When adding a video, go to the Cover Frame section and move the slider to the most impressive frame. You will see that the popularity of the video will be much higher.
View liked posts
Once you like a post on Instagram, you can always view the entire list of your liked images.

To do this, go to the settings of your personal profile and in the " Account " field, tap on the item " Publications you like ".

This is where Instagram saves the last 300 liked posts. You can view it both as thumbnails (grid) and as a list.
View all images you've been tagged on
Quite a useful function allows you to track all the images on which the user has been tagged.

In order to view all the images, just go to your personal profile and tap on a special icon, which will lead you to the " Photos with you " section.

View posts linked to geolocation
When you add geolocation data to images, you can always view the world map with the locations where the images were taken are marked. On it, you can zoom in to see more photos and find out the exact location.

In order to view the map, you need to go to the profile tab and tap on the icon with the image of the geolocation mark.

By the way, if you go to the friends' profile, then you can also see their map with marked photos.
Editing a signature

If you made a grammatical mistake when adding a photo or just want to change the caption to the image, then you can really fix everything.

Open the photo and click on the ellipsis icon in the lower right corner. Then tap " Change ". This action will lead to the menu for adding / changing the signature.

Use gestures
Instagram developers did a great job on the user interface that supports all popular gestures (swipes left and right). For example, you can easily switch between Library, Photo or Video modes in the camera section.
Speed up loading times
By default, Instagram is set to " Use Less Data " to conserve traffic over cellular data. This saves bandwidth, but at the same time increases the time to download photos and videos.

To speed up, go to the profile settings and in the basic settings section go to the " Data usage in the cellular network " menu. All that remains is to turn the switch to the off position.
