Sharing music is a great way to get people to talk or make new acquaintances. In iOS 13.5 and later, you can send the songs you're listening to to Instagram or Facebook Stories right from the Apple Music app.
How to Share Music from Apple Music to Instagram or Facebook
You can share artists, albums, playlists and individual songs using the Apple Music app. All you have to do is click on the three-dot menu anywhere in the Apple Music app, and then select Share from the pop-up action sheet.
If you want to add music to your Instagram or Facebook Stories, and not just add a link in your status update, you will need to work with albums, playlists or songs.
To share an album or playlist, open it in the Apple Music app and click on the three-dot menu at the top of the screen. You can press and hold your finger on an album or playlist from your library to display the Quick Actions menu. There, select "Share Album" or "Share Playlist."
To share a specific song, press and hold in the Apple Music app to bring up the Quick Actions menu. Alternatively, you can start playing a song by clicking on its name at the bottom of the screen, and then on the menu button with three dots. Select "Share" from the menu that appears (see screenshot above).
In the Share menu that opens, tap the Instagram or Facebook icon in the second row to share music to your Stories in this app. You may need to scroll horizontally through the list of items to find the icons you want.
How to add Instagram and Facebook to the Share menu
If Instagram and Facebook icons are missing in the second row, then you can customize the Share menu to display these items.
Scroll to the end of the second line and click on More.
A list will open with each application that you can add to the shared sheet. Click "Edit" to make your changes. Use the Add (+) buttons next to Instagram and Facebook to add them to your Favorites list.
You can also drag and drop your favorite apps in the list to rearrange them.
If Instagram and Facebook still don't show up, download and install these apps from the App Store. Then open each app separately and sign in to your account.

At the bottom of the screen, select the option to share this post to "Your Story" or "Close Friends". Or select Share to share with other people.
Anyone viewing your story can click the Play on Apple Music button at the top of the screen to open that song, album, or playlist in the Apple Music app on their device.
How to Share a Song, Album, or Playlist from Apple Music to Facebook Stories
Similar to Instagram, Apple Music opens the Facebook app if you choose to share music with your Facebook Story. In doing so, Apple Music creates a correctly sized blurred background that matches the album art for that music.
You can drag the album cover to shrink, enlarge, rotate or move it. You can also use the buttons at the top of the screen to trim videos, add stickers to stories, insert text, draw pictures, or tag friends.
Use the Effects button in the lower left corner to add filters and change colors. Then use the Privacy button to choose who will be able to view the story once it is posted.
When you're ready, click Share to Story. Other users viewing your Stories can click the Apple Music link at the top to open that song in the Apple Music app on their device.
Songs added to Stories from Apple Music won't play
While you can usually add music to your Instagram and Facebook Stories, any Stories you share with from the Apple Music app will be muted. Of course, anyone viewing them can click on the Apple Music link at the top of your story to play that song in the Apple Music app.
Can't add custom sound effects or music to Stories from Apple Music. This may be due to licensing issues as Apple may not have the required licenses to play these songs in other applications.
Submit other media to your Stories
Sharing music to Instagram and Facebook is a great way to tell other people what you are listening to. If you want to show your followers what you are doing, you can also share photos and videos with stories.
One of the best iPhone features is Live Photos. These short clips are a cross between a photo and a video, making your posts more immersive to watch than static photos. You can post live photos to social media to let your readers get to know you better.
