How To Reset Apple ID Security Questions And Why You Need A Backup Email

The Apple ID is an extremely important element in protecting the data of owners of iPhone, iPad and other Apple devices - in fact, it confirms your right to use the device. However, there is an additional method of verification - control questions.

Many users mistakenly believe that they will never need security questions and fill them out at random when creating an Apple ID. However, practice shows that this approach is fraught with sad consequences - later you will have to spend much more effort and time to change the Apple ID, reset your password, add a backup E-mail or link a credit card to your account.

Please note that if you plan to make purchases from the iTunes Store on a new device, you will need to enter the answers to your security questions.

So, when registering an Apple ID, the user is asked to select and answer three security questions from a list. Subsequently, they can be reset or changed using the following instructions:

How to reset Apple ID security questions

1. Go to the My Apple ID page on the official Apple website;

2. Enter your Apple ID and password. If you don't remember them, you can reset them according to this instruction;

3. Go to the "Security" section and click the Change questions … link;

4. Click on the link " Reset security questions ", which is located under the security questions (if there is no link, see the instructions below);

5. A letter will be sent to the backup E-mail to confirm the reset of security questions, after which you can change them to new ones.

If the link from point 4 of the instructions is not displayed, then you probably did not specify a backup email address when registering your Apple ID, you can do this in the "Security" section (point 3).

Click on the link " Add backup box ":

A code will be sent to the email address, which must be entered in the field that appears:

If the backup E-mail was not added earlier, and you do not remember the security questions, then the only way out is to contact Apple Support.

You can find the technical support phone number for your country here, but if it is not on the list (for example, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan), then you should contact the Russian (or American) representative office. In this case, you must first change the Apple ID georeference, indicating the Russian Federation as the country of registration according to this instruction.
