The tablet retained the Lightning connector, traditional for most Apple devices, remained here on the left side and Smart Connector for connecting a full-size keyboard. This is quite expected, because the company will actively support the taken course towards the extended functionality of tablets. The 3.5mm headphone jack remains on the top edge.

At the bottom of the case there is a Home button with a built-in biometric Touch ID sensor. He, as before, is responsible for secure authentication. A pair of stereo speakers is located on the very bottom edge.

The 2020 iPad is made from 100% recycled aluminum, and Apple continues to pursue its eco-friendly strategy.

The screen resolution of the new iPad is exactly the same as its predecessor - 2160 × 1620 pixels, which provides a density of 264 pixels per inch. Multitouch display with LED-backlit formed on IPS and has a brightness of 500 cd / m technology ². Its surface is coated with an oleophobic coating that is resistant to fingerprints. The screen supports the first generation Apple Pencil.

The new processor is perhaps the main difference between the 2020 model and the 2019 model. The outdated 16nm A10 Fusion, introduced back in 2016, has been replaced by the A12 Bionic. The iPad now has the same processor as the iPhone XS and XR. The 7nm 6-core chip has a 64-bit architecture, more cache and a much more powerful graphics accelerator. The iPad now has an 8-core Neural Engine. All this not only makes the 2020 model more powerful than its predecessor, but also allows it to be used in new scenarios.

You can shoot HD video in 1080p at 30 fps, as well as slow motion at up to 120 fps. When shooting video, optical stabilization works, it is possible to use a 3x zoom. And the front camera also remained the same, retaining the same resolution of 1.2 megapixels. It can shoot video at 720p, and the screen provides a flash for selfies. The camera can perform burst shooting, face and shape recognition, and work in HDR mode.

The 2020 model has a built-in lithium polymer battery of 32.4 Wh. According to the manufacturer, this is enough for 10 hours of Internet browsing via Wi-Fi or watching videos. Models with a Cellular module will be able to work up to 9 hours of the Internet through a network connection via a cellular connection.
