Now you can play virtual bowling, similar to the one on the Wii range, using only one iPhone and an Apple TV set-top box. This is a dedicated Bowling Central gaming application for iOS devices.

The developer of the program is Rolocule Games, a company specializing in the production of applications using motion tracking technologies. At the same time, the main feature of Bowling Central is the ability to use the iPhone as an alternative to the Wii Remote controller, for which the developers received the 2014 Edison Award.

Surprisingly, despite the huge number of sensors in the iPhone, as well as 300 thousand active game applications in the App Store, there are practically no games for iOS using motion tracking technologies. Rolocule Games developers are one of the few that use a gyroscope, magnetometer and smartphone accelerometer in their products at the same time. In this case, the picture of the game is broadcast from the phone to the TV screen through the Apple TV set-top box and the AirPlay functionality.
Interestingly, the first product of Tandon and his colleagues was virtual tennis, but many users asked to implement similar functionality for bowling.
