Not everyone is fond of indie games, which, moreover, have been awarded various "independent" festival prizes. At the mention of such projects, a picture of some kind of cheap craft, with a dull dramatic plot and primitive pixel graphics often appears in the imagination. However, even among this kind of creativity, there are games that get a response in the hearts of the general public. For example, a project in the adventure genre "To the Moon", which the developers transferred in 2017 to the mobile platforms iOS and Android.

The plot of the game is quite curious. In the future, scientists have learned to rewrite the memory of people. One of the applications of this discovery was the ability to edit the memories of an individual person in such a way that, contrary to the real state of affairs, he believed that he lived his life happily, making all his dreams come true. Due to the fact that such intervention in the depths of consciousness turned out to be an expensive procedure, they usually began to order it only before death. This made it possible for a person, at least at the end of his existence, to feel that he lived a wonderful life and managed to make all his dreams, projects and desires come true.
Before us appears the main character - an old man who is dying, surrounded by those same scientists. They are ready to start the process of editing memory, so they exchange a couple of phrases with him and start the mechanism for replacing memories. The hero turns out to be dozens of years younger, and all the opportunities in his life get a new chance for realization. Since childhood, the old man dreamed of visiting the moon and, thanks to this journey into his past, he can rewrite it, live it the way he wanted it.
So, the player will have to take part in the most memorable events of his life together with the main character - he will be able to trace the entire path of the character from the cradle to old age. Together with the main character, he will witness simple joys and sorrows, will experience many bright moments and will be able to observe the succession of successes and failures of an ordinary person. It may sound boring, but in fact, the To the Moon project for iPhone and iPad surprises with its special emotional mood, which is not often found among the products of the gaming industry.
The developers refer their brainchild to the JRPG (Japanese Role-Playing Game) genre. However, it differs from the examples of this genre in its peacefulness: no fights, shootings and other combat elements. But in the project there are many simple puzzles and curious areas that will need to be explored. Graphics, of course, are far from perfect, but in this case it plays a secondary role, and it fits perfectly into the overall picture. The wonderful soundtrack is worth noting separately.
