Both devices came out in a new design in the style of the iPhone 4 and the latest versions of the iPad Pro with chopped edges and looks similar in appearance. But while the iPhone 12 has an aircraft-grade aluminum frame between the glass plates, the iPhone 12 Pro has surgical stainless steel. In the first case, the finish is matte, while the older model has a polished metal finish. In all models, except for the silver one, the frame is painted in the color of the case. But the most noticeable difference between smartphones is the number of cameras on the back. The iPhone 12 has two, while the "pro" has three. It is difficult to determine which model looks the best. In the hand, they will definitely sit the same.

The display on both models supports HDR, True Tone technology and a wide P3 color gamut. In this case, the standard screen brightness of the iPhone 12 Pro is 800 cd / m², while the iPhone 12 is 625 cd / m². In HDR mode, the display brightness can reach 1200 cd / m² for both smartphones.
If the iPhone 12 Pro just slightly increased the diagonal relative to its counterpart in the previous line, the iPhone 12 received a fundamentally new screen. Now the displays of smartphones have become very similar in parameters. Whether differences in brightness will be noticeable in practical use remains to be seen.
Processor and memory in iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro
Both models have at their disposal the fastest processor for an iPhone - Apple's 5nm A14 Bionic. It contains the Neural Engine system of a new, fourth generation. The iPhone 12 has 4GB of RAM, while the iPhone 12 Pro has 6GB. The professional model received a performance margin, but today this can only affect the most demanding applications, when processing graphics and video. For another couple of years, the iPhone 12's performance will be sufficient for most tasks.
There is a difference in the options for the volume of the built-in storage:

- iPhone 12 Pro: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB
Obviously, the older model offers twice the size. If your iPhone is not just a dialer, but a truly professional assistant, then additional memory will be in demand.

The big differences between the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro lie in the shooting capabilities. iPhone 12 received a module of a pair of cameras with a resolution of 12 MP.

The smartphone can shoot 1080p HDR video at 30 or 60 frames per second, received audio zoom and the ability to use "Time Lapse" in Night mode.
The iPhone 12 Pro does the same thing, but a little more. One of the main differences is the number of modules, there are three of them - wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle and telephoto.
In addition to the wide-angle ƒ / 1.6 and ultra-wide сверх / 2.4, the system also has a telephoto lens with ƒ / 2.0 aperture. Optical stabilization here is already double, optical zoom also works for approximation, and digital zoom is possible up to 10x. In iPhone 12 Pro, the main camera can take portraits in Night mode. Video shooting capabilities are similar, but the older model HDR in the Dolby Vision standard can record up to 60 frames per second. And the advantages in zoom have not gone anywhere - 2x for zoom, 2x for zoom, and 6x digital for the iPhone 12 Pro versus 2x optical for zooming out and 3x for digital for the iPhone 12.
But the front-facing TrueDepth camera is the same for both smartphones. She received a resolution of 12 MP and aperture ƒ / 2.2. The cameras can shoot in Smart HDR 3, shoot 4K video up to 60 frames per second and HDR video in the Dolby Vision standard. The front modules support Night mode and Deep Fusion technology, and can shoot in slow motion at up to 1080p quality at 120 frames per second.
